Types of web hosting services
Web Hosting based on OS- Before hosting any web content, one must first decide the operating system that the server will run on. In this regard, by far the most popular operating systems are Windows running Internet Information Server (IIS) or Unix/Linux running Apache Server. In comparing the two, it isn’t really possible for prescribing one as being ‘better’.
Windows is a much more complex (and expensive- Linux is free) operating system to use, thanks to its GUI. However, given the universal popularity of Windows in most computers, compatibility becomes a major argument (more…)
